Its been 3 months

Wow, its been 3 months since I have blogged. Its not that I didn't want to,its just the timing was never there.

Well, I am back. Its been quite a ride over the last three months. Loss of a friend at work, in a good way for her, she retired. Not getting a job promotion, lots of depressing times over that one, but its over, moving on. Finished the Toastermasters Speech Craft course through the Napanee Valley Toastmastersand did one talk on Light Pollution to the CFUW Brockville.

I just celebrated my 45th birthday, the colt 45, I don't feel to bad about the age, but always the weight thing. The never ending strugglge of life.......admit it, its a life style change, gone will be the love of cheese, pizza and beer, hello club soda and rice cakes.

I am finishing up one area of interest in theRASC the National Secretary's position, and moving onto another one, but at the local level of the Kingston Centre of the RASC"In 2005, I will be the President of the Centre. It will be good to get back into the local level after taking a year off, and not really doing anything at the local level in any official capacity for the last 6 years.

My brother called me for my birthday, and I do miss him. He lives out west, many kilometers from here, but the email is making us closer.

I had a great Birthday event. It started on Thursday night after work, with seeing my Dad, and going out to dinner with my daughter. Spending time with her is precious, since she is in school, and busy with her own life, I guess the empty nest syndrome is still haunting me in the background, I get the pangs of pain and loneliness every now and then, but then it does go away, and on I go.

I took the Friday and Monday off work, just to do my own things at home. Friday night had some friends come over and Kevin got me a blowup "Tux" peguin for Christmas to sit outside, it inflates then deflates , Saturday continued with gifts of DVD movies, The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, and Prisilla, Queen of the Desert. Onto Raxx at night for food and pool with great friends, and home for cake which Kevin made at 9:30 at night. Great day.

Sunday, not much happened some computer work, and napping and relaxing and tv. Monday, I am home doing more of the same. This morning I got up around 5:30 am and went for a walk, since I have not done that since last Monday, lazy butt. It was psuedo clear, the moon was past full in the west, but it had a ring around it. Saturn , Castor and Pollux were inside the ring of the moon. Venus is low in the east, Mars is rising, and the difference between Jupiter and Venus is around 30 degrees, Jupiter is around 45 degrees in the sky. On the way home, I saw a meteor go into the North, drawing it back, it might have been an early Leonid or just a sporadic.

So, I wait for the sun to rise, as there is hazy cloud in the sky. I will do some solar observing, as it is going to get cloudy again, but tomorrow accroding to the weather forcasters say it will be sunny.
